How to Record Video on iPhone without Audio or Sound using Camera Plus Pro

Did Apple forget to add this function or is it by design? Well, it doesn't really matter because you can disable sound while recording video with your iPhone.

There are tons of things we can do with our iPhones but sometimes there's one or two important function that seems to be missing from the iOS.

Whether it's intentional or not, we don't know for sure. That's one of the reasons why jailbreaking your iPhone can bring added benefits if you wish to add additional tweaks or features which are "not available" by default in iOS.

Jailbreaking is not always the only solution to enable certain features on your iPhone.

For instance, there may be times when you need to shoot a video with your iPhone camera without actually recording the sound, probably for an artwork or just to save you some additional work (and hard disk space) when doing post-production of a video.

Camera Plus Pro is an app that can disable sound recording when shooting your video. When I last checked on the App Store it costs $1.99 to purchase this app. It's really a small price to pay if you need to enable this function on your iPhone 5.

To disable sound during video recording is a straight forward process. Once you have downloaded and installed the App on your iPhone, simply do the following:

1. Launch Camera Plus Pro app. The Main camera preview will come up.

2. Tap on Settings button from Options panel as shown below.

3. Next, go to Videos section and set Audio Capture to off.

4. Once that's set, press on Done button and you may begin recording your video without audio being recorded.

All subsequent videos will not have audio recorded and you may notice the file size has been reduced since there's no longer data available for audio.

Do take note that if you want sound to be recorded or captures in future videos, you will have to manually switch the Audio Capture to ON. You don't wanna miss out especially if you are recording some important events.
